Analysys International Says China's Rapid Growing LCD TV Market Drives Large Size TFT-LCD Panel Demands15 January 2006
BEIJING, Jan. 13 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Analysys International, a leading Internet-based business information service provider, says the LCD TV market continues growing rapidly and will drive the demands for large size TFT-LCD panels, in the future, in its recently released report: China LCD Industry Annual Report 2005-2006.
According to Analysys International's further research, the annual growth rate of global LCD TV shipments in 2004 was 120%. In 2005, the market maintained the momentum and the growth rate in the first three quarters was more than 100% compared with the same periods in 2004. Analysys International says that the annual growth rate of 2005 will reach 116%.
The global demand of LCD TVs in 2005 will be 15.05 million sets and the average annual growth rate for the coming 4 years is expected to reach 55.8%. The increasing demand for LCD TVs is becoming the driving force for the demand increase of LCD panels.
According to the research, LCD panel demands will focus on large size products. However, Analysys International says the LCD TV panel market is currently dominated by Korean and Taiwan manufacturers. ''China is only at the initial phase of large size TFT-LCD panel production. And we should speed up the technology innovation and introduce the core technology of production instead of just copying the current technology, and transfer the manufacture center to China,'' says Zhao Yazhou, an analyst from Analysys International, ''Innovation, breakthrough of key raw materials and government support should be key factors to drive the healthy development of the industry chain and evolve from 'made in China' to 'innovated by China'.''
