ATP Begins Productions of Lead-Free “Green” Memory Products11 April 2005
RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) is European Union's (EU) directive (2002/95/EC), or “Green” specification. As of July 1, 2006, the RoHS directive will require the removal of six hazardous substances, including lead, from all electronic products shipped into the EU. A product is considered to be RoHS compliant if the maximum concentration value is up to 0.1% by weight in homogeneous materials for lead, mercury, hexavalent chromium, PBB and PBDE, and is up to 0.01% by weight in homogeneous materials for cadmium.
By offering RoHS-compliant products well in advance of the July 2006 deadline set by EU, ATP shows the commitment to its OEM and channel partners to deliver products that are not only of high quality and performance, but also meets the strict environmental policies set by legislation.
