Bell Microproducts to Distribute Zetera's Breakthrough Network Storage Systems

8 February 2005

Bell Microproducts, Inc. (Nasdaq: BELM), a leading worldwide distributor of data storage products, and Zetera Corporation, announced today a strategic alliance to develop and
market storage solutions utilizing Zetera's patent-pending network storage
technology. Bell Microproducts will be the master distributor for a new family
of network storage devices targeting the needs of the business market. Bell
Microproducts expects to ship its first Zetera-enabled products in the second
quarter of 2005 to resellers in North and South America and Europe.

Zetera's technology enables storage area networks to deliver high
performance and improved scalability at significantly lower cost. "Zetera's
new storage architecture is one of those rare technology breakthroughs that is
simultaneously better, faster, cheaper and easier to deploy than its
predecessors," said Zetera CEO Chuck Cortright. "Bringing our products to
market through one of the storage industry's most revered providers, Bell
Microproducts, reinforces our conviction that Zetera-powered network storage
is the wave of the future."

Zetera network storage technology eliminates the need for costly
controllers and custom switches, through an innovative application of
Internetworking Protocol (IP). Zetera-powered storage devices can deliver
high performance at little more than the cost-per-gigabyte of off-the-shelf
USB storage devices.

"We're always on the lookout for new sources of growth in the storage
market," said Joe Cousins, Vice President of Computer Products for Bell
Microproducts. "Zetera's network storage architecture opens up new markets
for customers that require high performance solutions at a lower price
points." Zetera-powered storage systems are expected to sell for at least one
third less than other technology solutions, and to deliver superior
performance, scalability, and interoperability.

Zetera's network storage technology virtualizes storage at the IP layer,
and in doing so, eliminates the physical transport gateways and disk
controllers that have made storage area networks so costly. Zetera-based
solutions scale smoothly from consumer applications to massive data center
arrays. By using IP as the storage fabric, data replication, performance and
reliability are delivered without custom and costly specialized hardware such
as RAID controllers.
