Control Break International to Develop New Versions of SafeBoot Solutions31 January 2005
Control Break International (CBI), developer of SafeBoot(R) solutions and a market leader in mobile data encryption technology, announced today the development of new versions of SafeBoot(R) Device Encryption(TM) and SafeBoot(R) Management Center(TM), both of which will support 32-bit and 64-bit computing modes in the upcoming release of Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, as well as existing and future releases of Windows Server 2003 64-Bit Edition.
New versions of SafeBoot solutions will be designed to take advantage of improved performance made possible by 64-bit computing on Windows operations systems and the increasing adoption of leading-edge processors from AMD and Intel in PCs, workstations and servers, including AMD Athlon(TM) 64 and Opteron(TM) processors, and Intel(R) Xeon(TM) and Pentium(R) 4 processors.
From the outset, 64-bit computing offers the use of vastly increased system memory - up to 32 GB of RAM, compared with 4 GB (2 GB dedicated memory per processor) through 32-bit computing - along with potential virtual memory of up to 16 terabytes. This enables applications to load more data, which can be accessed by 64-bit processors exponentially faster than through current data storage devices and disk drives. However, though 64-bit computing, applications and operating systems enable increased system memory, and therein greater efficiency and performance, the security and management of a user's or organization's mission-critical data assets necessitates.
"One of our primary goals at CBI is to deliver SafeBoot technology that meets the evolving needs of IT security professionals with unmatched technology and services," said CBI CTO Simon Hunt. "While our clients' data and performance needs continue to push the limits of existing IT platforms, SafeBoot is right there with them - providing the encryption security they need, when they need it."
