Dot Hill Qualifies Its Storage Array and Management Software on Stratus NEBS Compliant Fault

6 August 2005

Matching up mission- critical storage solutions with mission-critical servers to deliver superior
application availability to the telecommunications industry, Dot Hill Systems
Corp. (Nasdaq: HILL) and Stratus Technologies, Inc. today announced the
completion of product integration and compatibility testing and their
intention to mutually support sales efforts. Among the applications that will
benefit from the collaboration are: home location register/home subscriber
server (HLR/HSS), wide-area synchronization and other next-generation
services.

Dot Hill, a leading provider of carrier-class data storage solutions and
services, has successfully tested and qualified its SANnet(R) II Fibre Channel
(FC) RAID array and its SANscape(R) storage management software on the
Stratus(R) ftServer(R) T Series of fault tolerant NEBS (Network Equipment
Building System) certified servers for Linux(R). The Stratus ftReady Program
qualifies partner companies' hardware and software offerings to operate with
the ftServer product line. Together, the Dot Hill and Stratus product
families represent a state-of-the-art storage and server solution for
continuous application availability with exceptional price/performance,
affording customers a better return on investment and improved uptime.

Dot Hill's SANnet II Fibre Channel storage solutions provide industry
leading 99.9998+ percent uptime in compact, rack-optimized packages. SANnet
II brings carrier-grade reliability and enterprise-class features to open
systems platforms that are optimized for telecommunications solutions such as
those offered by Stratus. With high-speed FC connections, compact 2U
enclosure, NEBS Level 3 certification, and AC or DC power options, the SANnet
II FC gives telecom customers a rugged, scalable external storage solution.

"As a participant in the Stratus ftReady program, Dot Hill has
demonstrated its commitment to support Stratus customers with compatible high-
performance storage solutions. Conversely, our customers now have a powerful
fault-tolerant server option with outstanding field-proven reliability," said
Phil Davis, Dot Hill's senior vice president of sales and marketing. "Our
relationship assures telecom customers that SANnet II FC is a fully tested and
qualified storage solution with Stratus ftServer T Series platforms."
The SANnet II FC storage solutions feature 2Gbit Fibre Channel technology
with support for sophisticated storage area network (SAN) and traditional
direct attached storage (DAS) architectures. Dot Hill's SANscape storage
software enables comprehensive remote management and secure storage
networking. SANnet II FC storage solutions feature 12 disk drive bays, single
or dual controllers, AC or DC power supplies and eight host ports in a compact
2U (3.5 inches high) enclosure. Capacity scales without interruption by
adding one or more expansion systems providing an additional 12 disk drive
bays.

Building upon more than two decades of experience and expertise, the
company introduced last year the T Series, a family of NEBS Level 3-certified
fault-tolerant servers that support the Linux operating system. Today Stratus
offers a wide range of ftServer models and configurations, from entry-level
application servers to powerful central office solutions. Stratus' carrier-
grade signaling software, SINAP, supports the protocols needed to develop,
run, manage and scale voice and data services in circuit and packet networks.
Stratus pioneered industry-standard fault-tolerant computing when it
introduced the Intel-based ftServer line for Windows in 2001.

"Stratus telecom customers rely on ftServer T Series systems for the best
in availability and reliability. By coupling the Dot Hill SANnet II offering
with our NEBS-compliant Intel platform for Linux, we will deliver a
continuously available server/storage solution that's equal to the
uncompromising demands of today's telecom networks," said Ali Kafel, vice
president of telecom sales for Stratus.
