Spansion Ships 100 Millionth NOR Flash Memory Device to Bosch2 February 2006

Spansion offers a comprehensive line of NOR Flash memory products that are optimized for rugged automotive applications, and supports that product line with high quality, high-volume manufacturing. The company often engages in joint product definition with the Bosch Group, resulting in some of the most advanced Flash memory devices, with special features such as high-performance burst mode and Advanced Sector Protection for code security. Spansion also maintains important certification compliance to help ensure zero-defect requirements. Spansion ships a variety of devices at varying densities to the Bosch Group. Under-the-hood applications, such as engine and transmission control, utilize densities ranging from 1 Mb to 32 Mb. In addition, Bosch is deploying devices based on the company's advanced two-bit-per-cell MirrorBit(TM) technology, in densities ranging from 16 Mb to 128 Mb for navigation systems. Spansion also offers devices designed for extended temperature ranges (-40 degrees to +145 degrees C). In addition, the company offers a burst-mode interface and features like simultaneous read/write for maximum performance.
