Varsity Logistics Achieves IBM ServerProven Status, Accepted Into Advanced Partner Program

25 July 2006

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) July 25, 2006 -- Varsity Logistics, Inc., the leader in integrated shipping solutions for the IBM® System i platform, announced today that it has achieved IBM ServerProven™ status, as well as acceptance into the IBM Advanced Business Partner program.

Varsity ShipSoft™ has a reputation for superior customer satisfaction running on System i products in both Fortune 1000 and small to medium business IT environments. Attaining ServerProven status is an indication that Varsity customers are successfully deploying the ShipSoft solution in their System i-powered datacenters.

IBM's Advanced level partnership is for independent solution providers (ISVs) worldwide making significant commitments to IBM technologies. As a developer of leading shipping systems for the System i for over 17 years, Varsity's status as an IBM Advanced Business Partner grants Varsity a comprehensive assortment of technical, informational, general business, and marketing services from IBM. Varsity customers benefit by having greater resources through both IBM and Varsity in response to their needs, as well as unfailing customer service and support.

«Varsity was launched by two former IBM executives, and has been dedicated to the System i platform since day one. Deepening our relationship with IBM through these programs will provide us with greater insight into the IBM development process and product roadmap and additional access and support from IBM technical and development resources. With these benefits added to our offerings, customers are assured that Varsity will continue to provide the most powerful System i-based shipping solutions on the market today,» said Julian Thomas, Director of Product Management.

Varsity Logistics is also an Independent Software Vendor (ISV), member of the IBM PartnerWorld Industry Networks, and participates in the IBM Initiative for Innovation Program.

«Working in partnership with ISV's like Varsity Logistics allows IBM to seed innovation for the midmarket,» said Peter Small, director of IBM System i worldwide Business Partner and ISV Sales. «Varsity Logistics has demonstrated its commitment to System i customers over the last 17 years and now, by participating in the Initiative for Innovation, the company has access to resources and support that will help position it to reach new customers and grow its business.»
