Xyratex Demonstrates Full Range of Storage Products and Capabilities at the Fall Storage Networking World25 October 2005
Xyratex Ltd (Nasdaq: XRTX - News), a leader in delivering high performance and highly scalable storage systems for the OEM and System Integrator market, announced today an expanded family of products at Storage Networking World 2005 in Orlando, Florida. The company's presence at this event will be focused on recent merger highlights as well as a showcase of product offerings that fit a variety of customer environments and storage intensive applications.
Xyratex will be demonstrating an expanded family of offerings at SNW including the recently acquired line of nStor products and technologies, and a series of new product announcements that will be presented at the show. "We are seeing a growing emphasis and awareness of data asset management within the small-to-medium size business (SMB) market," noted Todd Gresham, senior vice president of Xyratex Storage Systems. "I am very excited by the opportunities to deploy our integrated technology roadmap more widely, especially in the high growth entry-level storage systems market."

Product Highlights at the show include:
* HS-1235 Application Ready Platform -- This unique offering creates the
foundation for a robust and flexible storage appliance. Ideally suited
to meet the increased application requirements of today's OEM and
Solution Integrators, this appliance technology combines low-cost, high
capacity disk drives with high speed network connections and industry
standard operating systems to provide a platform capable of supporting a
variety of applications. Customers will now have the flexibility to
optimize their configuration to best fit their application requirements
and target markets. A variety of these appliances are showcased
throughout the SNW event at Xyratex customer and partner booths.
* 4Gbit Connectivity -- Continuing its lead in 4Gbit technology, Xyratex's
previously announced SBOD (Switched Bunch of Disks) enclosures will be
the cornerstone of a number of Partners and Industry demonstrations at
SNW. Complementing the push to 4Gbit, Xyratex will also be showcasing
the new 5402 4G FC-SAS/SATA RAID enclosure, which leverages technology
from the nStor acquisition. The 5402 is a logical evolution of nStor's
highly successful 5200 2G FC-SAS/SATA RAID product, announced at SNW
Spring, with embedded storage management capabilities and tiered storage.
* 4835 Mass Storage Solution -- Positioned for the disk-to-disk and tape
emulation markets, the high density 48 drive 4U enclosure offers high
availability, Fibre Channel connectivity, and up to 24 TB of storage
capacity using cost effective SATA drives. This offering is ideal for
addressing traditional near-line applications.
* SAS -- Native SAS connectivity, as well as FC-SAS expansion will be
demonstrated as part of the Xyratex technology demonstration of emerging
trends in the industry. The 3U 16 drive enclosure offers Xyratex's OEM
and System Integrator customers SAS expandability and connectivity up to
48 TB.
